Support
Were you just scammed? Do this now.
It is not your fault. These scams fool careful people. Take these steps, in this order.
- Stop all contact. Hang up or close the message. Do not send any more money or information, no matter what they say or threaten.
- Call your bank now. Use the number on the back of your card. Tell them it was a scam and ask them to stop the payment. Time matters: some payments can still be stopped if you call within hours. Paid with gift cards? Call the card company, using the number on the back of the card or the store receipt, and ask them to freeze the funds.
- Watch out for a second scam. Scammers often call back. They may say they are your bank, the police, a lawyer, or a service that can get your money back for a fee. Real agencies never charge to get money back. If anyone calls about this, hang up and call your bank yourself.
- Write down what happened. Save the texts, emails, receipts, phone numbers, names, amounts, and dates. Screenshots are perfect.
- Report it. Report to the FTC at reportfraud.ftc.gov and to the FBI at ic3.gov, and file a report with your local police. Gave out your Social Security number? IdentityTheft.gov builds a recovery plan for you.
- Tell someone you trust. You do not have to carry this alone.

Common questions
What does Scam Sentinel do?
You show it a suspicious text, email, link, or phone call, and it gives you a plain-language verdict: is this likely a scam, why, and what to do right now. It is a second opinion for the moment of doubt.
Is it a guarantee?
No. Scam Sentinel is a decision aid, not a guarantee. It will not catch every scam, it may flag some legitimate messages, and it may miss some bad ones. Never treat a verdict, or the absence of a warning, as proof that something is safe. You remain in control of your own decisions.
Do you read my messages or email?
Only what you choose to send us for a check. We analyze it to produce a verdict and pull out scam indicators, and we keep what you send in our secure systems to make Scam Sentinel smarter and protect other users from the same scam. We never open your mailbox or read your messages in the background, and we never sell your data. See the Privacy Policy for the details.
Do you sell my data?
No. We do not sell personal data, and we do not run dark web monitoring. Our job is to help you at the moment a scam reaches you, not to watch a past you cannot change.
How much does it cost?
There is a free plan and two paid plans. Planned pricing at launch, in US dollars:
- Sentinel, free. The phone call, payment and romance checks, one full message check a day and basic checks after that, and two investigations a month.
- Sentinel+, $3.99 a month or $29.99 a year. No daily limit on message, link and QR checks for everyday use, deep link scans, unlimited investigations, and call and text blocking on iPhone.
- Family Sentinel, $7.99 a month or $59.99 a year for you and one family member, or $8.99 a month or $67.99 a year for you and up to three. Everything in Sentinel+, plus Family Circle.
There is no free trial. Instead, ask within 14 days of a charge and we refund it in full. Purchases go through Apple on iPhone and Google on Android. Prices may change before launch. See the plans side by side.
What is your refund policy?
Our refund promise: ask within 14 days of a charge and we refund it in full, even if you've used it. On yearly plans after that, we refund the months you didn't use. A billing mistake, or the app didn't work? Refunded, no matter the date. If Apple turns down a request we think is fair, we make it right with free time.
How to request one: Apple handles the payment, so Apple issues refunds. Go to reportaproblem.apple.com and sign in with your Apple Account, tap "I'd like to," then choose "Request a refund," pick a reason, and select your Scam Sentinel subscription. Apple reviews it and emails you their decision.
Stuck, or think you were charged by mistake? Email [email protected] and we'll walk you through it. We will never make you fight for a refund.
How do I delete my account or data?
You can do both yourself, in the app. You do not need to ask us.
To clear your check history: open History and tap Clear all. You can also swipe a single check to delete just that one.
To delete your whole account: open Account, then tap Delete account. The app shows you exactly what will be removed before you confirm: your profile and email addresses, your check history, the emails you forwarded in for analysis, your open cases, your Family Circle links and the alerts between you and the people you paired with, and your Family Verify requests and answers. Confirming erases all of it from our servers. We keep no copy, so there is nothing to restore afterwards.
One thing deletion does not do: it does not cancel a paid subscription. Apple and Google hold your subscription, not us, so only you can cancel it, from your device settings. Cancel it before you delete your account, otherwise you will keep being billed for an account you can no longer sign in to.
If you would rather we handled it, or you cannot get into your account, email [email protected] and a real person will do it for you.
