What Scam Sentinel actually does.
This page is for anyone who wants more than the homepage pitch, a full, honest list of what's actually in the app, on both platforms. One thing we won't get into here: exactly how a verdict gets decided. That's the same information a scammer would use to learn how to dodge it, so we keep the reasoning behind each result in the app, where it belongs, and keep the methods themselves to ourselves.

Built native, not ported
Some things only make sense on one platform.
iOS and Android don't give apps the same tools to work with, so instead of settling for the lowest common denominator on either one, Scam Sentinel builds to what each platform actually allows. Here's exactly where they differ.
Apple Watch app
Trigger a Family Verify alert from your wrist, or just ask Siri, without reaching for your phone.
Text message screening
Incoming texts get screened at the OS level, before you even open them, not just when you manually forward one in.
On-device AI
On supported devices, some checks run entirely on your phone. Nothing leaves the device.
Text a result to anyone
If your trusted person doesn't have the app yet, send them a check result as a normal text message instead.
Caller ID labeling
A likely-scam call is labeled right in your Phone app as it rings.
Android Real-time call blocking
A suspicious call is rejected outright before it ever rings, not just labeled.
Both platforms get every feature in the shared list above. The difference above is real, not a placeholder for "coming soon": Apple doesn't give any third-party app a way to evaluate an unknown phone number in real time as it rings, only Android does, so Android blocks a suspicious call outright while iOS labels it. Android's text-message screening is on the roadmap, not blocked by the platform the way call blocking is.

System requirements
Scam Sentinel needs iOS 17 or later, or Android 8.0 or later. Two features need a newer version than that to actually work:
- On-device AI analysis needs iOS 26 on an Apple Intelligence-eligible iPhone (see Apple's current device list). On any other supported iPhone, checks still run just as fully through secure cloud analysis, nothing about your protection is reduced, you just don't get that extra on-device privacy step.
- Real-time call blocking needs Android 10 or later. On Android 8 or 9, you can still check a call manually after it happens, it just won't be blocked automatically before it rings.
